Speech

Kia ora, teachers and nau mai students of Rimu house.
My name is Angel and I hope to convince you today why i should be house leader.

For those that don’t know me I began school last year in Kauri house but after one term my parents decided to move me to Matai so I could learn more about my cultural heritage.

I learnt a lot in both houses but i think what moving  taught me was how to communicate with a lot of different students and teachers like Matua Jack who i thought was really scary but after spending almost a year with him i can honestly say that he’s still really scary. I hope i left a positive impression on all of my teachers and peers and look forward to being a member of the best house in Tauranga Intermediate. Go RIMU!

Heres a little bit more about me and why i should be your house leader.
I LOVE school and being involved in as much as i can.
I  play a lot of different sports throughout the year
I represented the school in the Year 7 girls  touch rugby team in Kawerau
I also went to Aims for Netball.
I made it into the regional kapa haka group where we qualified to compete in the nationals this year.
Im also in the Choir and a soloist and was the first student to learn and play the Oboe.

I love encouraging others to become involved in school activities because its a great way to build confidence, make new friends and its hard to be bored when theres always something to do. i have a great sense of humour and I can be a little loud but i think thats just part of my charm. As a house leader i know its important to be accessible so i will always make an effort to listen and talk to you if you need me.

I want to be a leader  you can confide in and trust. As mr Diver says, you only have two years here at Tauranga Intermediate, don’t leave saying what if . As your house leader I will encourage and help you to make your final year at Tauranga Intermediate your best yet.

No reira, Tena Koutou, tena kotou, te na ra  koutou katoa
